As part of Qatar National Vision 2030, Qatar is actively focusing on diversifying its economy from a hydrocarbon-based economy to a knowledge-based economy. Complementary to these efforts, major emphasis has been given to the development of digital economy and various programs have been initiated to support these efforts.
TASMU Digital Valley (TDV) together with Qatar Free Zone Authority (QFZA) and Qatar-Russia are organizing a webinar to share key insights about key digital initiatives and opportunities in Qatar as well as the market potential for foreign investors.
About TASMU Digital Valley (TDV):
TASMU Digital Valley is an innovation cluster that connects entrepreneurs, startups, investors, academics, researchers, students, multinational corporations, and institutions with the common goal of innovating new digital solutions. TASMU Smart Qatar is established by the Qatar Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC), and its priority sectors are transport, logistics, environment, healthcare and sports.

Speakers Profile:
Yazen Al Safi | Digital Industry Development Director, Ministry of Transport & Communications
Fahad Al-Kuwari | Head of Markets Intelligence, Qatar Free Zone Authority
Fahad Al Kuwari joined the QFZA in 2019 as the Head of Markets Intelligence, after having spent the vast majority of his career within the Energy Sector. Al Kuwari began his career with Qatar Petroleum’s Strategic Planning unit as an Economist and Policy Analyst; after which he spent two years at the OPEC HQ in Vienna as the head of Energy Studies.
After earning his master’s degree from the Ecole Superieur de Commerce de Paris, he was tasked with the position of “Head of Energy Policy” at the Ministry of Energy and Industry where he led delegations to the OPEC and became the youngest co-chair of the Economic Commissions Board of the organization in their history.
Today, Al Kuwari is the Head of Markets Intelligence with the Qatar Free Zones Authority; where he is in charge of all lead generation, and pipeline health; while recommending market entry strategies and leading stakeholder engagement strategies for the organization.
Al Kuwari is fluent in Arabic, English, German, and French.

Andrey Egorov | Office of Knowledge and Innovation Director, Qatar-Russia
Mr. Andrey Egorov has a broad-range experience in business and program development activities within local and international markets and within largest Russian Institutions for Development. He is heading one of the most prominent units, carrying out educational, scientific, innovation and other key programs between the State of Qatar and the Russian Federation. Andrey is an expert and speaker at different Russian and international events, he was in the team who launched Skolkovo Innovation Center and is founder of Open University Skolkovo.
Qatar-Russia is an inter-institutional platform set up under the auspices of the Embassy of the State of Qatar to the Russian Federation, with a mission to develop the bilateral ties between the two countries in the realms of investment, trade, education, science, technology, innovation, as well tourism, sport, art, and culture.
